Smalls' Provisions is a breakfast and lunch spot that might be little in size, but it stems from big dreams. Ever since Mark Gears (chef-owner) was a teenager, he has always wanted to open a sandwich shop. After many years of working as a chef in Philly and DC, then a decade of working in food sales in the mid-Atlantic, an opportunity to switch gears presented itself. A former Fishtown deli/corner store staple, One Stop, came on the market, and Mark and his wife, Hannah, jumped on it. Located at the corner of Memphis and Hagert, Smalls' Provisions is eager to cater to the neighborhood, providing coffee, egg sandwiches, and other goodies for breakfast, plus delicious sandwiches and salads for lunch. Smalls' will also sell a variety of locally-made pastries and the corner store essentials (think milk, paper towels, or pasta when you don't want to commit to trekking to the grocery store).

Smalls' Provisions gets its name from the term of endearment that Mark and Hannah "invented" years ago...and yes, the Sandlot may have provided some inspiration. If you meet Mark and Hannah, you'll know that the term has nothing to do with size--it's all about mentality. Our household is known for asking "Are you small?" as code for "Are you happy/content/relaxed?" Sometimes it's even a command, "Be small" as code for "Relax, everything is going to be just fine."

We hope that a trip to Smalls' brings you good vibes and helps get you on the road to feeling happy, relaxed, and satisfied.
We can't wait to meet all of you!
